Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) at Ole Miss has been serving the students of the University of Mississippi since 1933.
Our mission:
We strive to help the students at Ole Miss to live fully and boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish our mission by providing answers to tough questions and opportunities for growth in the grace of God. Through prayer, service, fellowship, education and worship in the Church that he founded, we seek to love and serve Christ and our neighbor.
Weekly CCM Events (Fall and Spring Semesters):
Ole Miss Women's Book Study
Tuesday evenings, after Adoration, starting c. 8:15pm in the Community Room of the St. John's Annex.
Spaghetti Supper
Sunday evenings at St. John's Parish Hall, 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Just as the name implies, it's a delicious, home-cooked spaghetti supper, complete with salad, rolls, drink and dessert. Always delicious and always a hit. $2 per plate, but if cost is an issue for you, discreetly let us know and we'll take care of you!
Catholicism 101 (AKA RCIA)
Sunday evenings at St. John's Parish Hall, 7:00pm - 9:00pm (runs from September until Pentecost)
Want to learn about Catholic Christianity? Here's your chance! "No commitment necessary" makes this the ideal place to find the answers to your questions from certified, genuine Catholics. This is also a must for those interested in joining the Church and for those Catholic students and adults who need to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (i.e. Confirmation and Holy Communion).
Adoration
Tuesday evenings at St. John's Church, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Usually, Confession is offered as well. You may come for the entire time or come and go as your schedule allows.
Good Cheer
Wednesday evenings at Bouré, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
This is easily CCM's biggest weekly event (with the exception of Mass, because our college students are awesome). Each week, we introduce a guest speaker who'll talk about a topic of faith and/or morals. It's fun, laid-back, super informative and open to all. A great way to fellowship, keep informed and to get that mid-week spiritual battery boost!
Rosary Walk
Thursday afternoon/evenings at Pat Lamar Park, usually starts at 6:00pm, but check for updates!
Meet with other students to pray the Rosary as you walk around the Lake Patsy and Lamar Park. A great opportunity for fellowship and prayer. Bring your dog and your beads - newcomers are always welcome! During the colder months, the same group meets at Highpoint Coffee (N. Lamar, just north of the Square) to pray the Rosary as a group.
